In the 21st Century ,the state of the are research in basic sciences shapes the technological advancement along the applied science .To integrate research and teaching and to attract young minds to ward basic sciences the Ministry of Human Resource Development MHRD) Government of India has set UP FiVE Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) at Bhopal ,Kolkata ,Mohali,Pune, and Thirupati, Thiruvananthapuram.From August 2015.
BS - MS Dual Degree Programme :- It is five year dual degree Programme fo r highly motivated science students who have passed Class XII examination .The Programme integrates classroom learning with research an provides ample scope for interdisciplinary interactions ..First two years of the programme scientist of core course in basic sciences .Third and fourth years are dedicated to a specializations.in a chosen science stream followed by a research project in the fifth years .The program is fully residential .Well equipped hostels with sports ,medical an directional facilities are provided to all BS - MS Students .
ADMISSION TO BS - MS Dual Degree Programme 2015 : Candidates Satisfying at least one of the following three criteria are eligible to apply for the academic session commencing from August 2015.
- Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY ) :- Basic Science Steam Student qualifying SA (2013 -14) SX (2014 - 15) SB ( 2014 - 15)
- IIT -JEE Advanced 2015:- Students securing at least 60% of marks in class XII and securing a place in JEE Advanced 2015. rank list for admission to IITS.s .
- STATE and Central Boards :- Students passed Class XII in 2014. or appearing in 2015. with science stream AND
- 1) With marks equal or above the cut off percentage declared by DST as qualifying for INSPIRE fellow ship www.inspire-dst.gov.in OR
- 2) Student eligible for Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) under inspire scheme .
SCHOLARSHIP :- All BS -MS Students are eligible for KVPY or INSPIRE scholarship of Rs.5000/- PM as per DST norm subject to continued good academic performance .
